Podimo and Bauer Media Enter Into Partnership Around Podcasts
Europe's fastest-growing podcast and audiobook service Podimo and Bauer Media, the market leader in the commercial radio business and trendsetter in the audio business, have entered into a partnership, with which Bauer Media will start selling advertising for some of Podimo's podcasts that are published outside the service.
The podcast market has developed rapidly in recent years, and the increase in listening volumes is reflected both in the number of subscribers and in the interest of advertiser customers. Bauer Media has been actively building its digital audio network with various partners, and cooperation with Podimo, which started operating in Finland about a year ago, is part of this development.
"We want to work as an active partner with many audio and digital audio operators. Throughout its operations, Podimo has invested in high-quality content, which we believe will also be of interest to our advertiser customers. Cooperation in the development of listening and the market will strengthen the position of audio now and in the future", says Sami Tenkanen, CEO of Bauer Media .
The audio service based on a monthly fee is Podimo's core business, but some of the podcasts published by the company are also available for free on various platforms. With the cooperation now concluded, some of these paywall-free podcasts may in the future contain audio advertisements sold by Bauer Media.
"Podimo has no ads at all, but you can use our content for a small monthly fee. However, we sometimes publish sample episodes of our programs for free listening, so it is natural to bring advertising in connection with these episodes. Bauer Media was selected as our advertising partner due to its reliability and easy cooperation model, and we are happy with the creation of the cooperation," says Johannes Saukko, Podimo's Finland country manager.
